This 5 days Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari presents an opportunity to encounter the magnificent wildlife of Uganda flourishing in their savannah habitats and a fine encounter with the remarkable Mountain gorillas of Bwindi forest- Uganda. Traverse Queen Elizabeth national park and Bwindi Impenetrable national park to generate ultimate safari memories.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Gorilla Forest.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi.
After breakfast, take a southwestward drive for 8 – 10 hours journey to Bwindi National park. Make a stop at the equator crossing at Kayabwe for photo shooting and water tests. Have Lunch en route at Igongo cultural center 12 km before Mbarara town. Proceed with your journey to Bwindi amidst the scenic offerings of Kabale highlands- the Switzer land of Africa. Accommodation at Gorilla Forest Camp (Up market/ Luxury), Silverback Lodge (Midrange/standard) or Buhoma community bandas (Budget/ basic).

Day 2: Gorilla tracking in the mist. 
Wake up early in the morning for a warm cup of coffee before you gather at the park headquarters to be briefed on how to track gorillas at 08:00 hours.  Embark on the gorilla tracking/trekking expedition in the forest of Bwindi which can stretch between 2 – 8 hours.  Have one hour encounter with them before descending down the rugged terrain of Bwindi. Do not forget to carry your packed lunch as the activity could stretch longer than expected. Return to the lodge for relaxation after which you can take a cultural walk to the adjacent Batwa / pygmy communities. Accommodation at your lodge.

Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National park.
After breakfast embark on a 64 km drive to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park to watch out for tree climbing lions lying on the fig trees in the warm morning sunshine. Continue to Mweya Safari lodge for lunch. Have a boat cruise on Kazinga channel for wonderful sights of birds and wildlife on the water side. Accommodation at Mweya safari lodge (upmarket/luxury), Bush lodge (mid-range/ standard) or Mweya hostel (Budget/basic).

 Day 4: Game drive and Chimp trekking. 
Do an early morning game drive along tracks like Kasenyi and channel to spot lions, elephants, buffaloes and leopard among other wildlife. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation. After lunch head for chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge.  Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Return to Kampala.
After breakfast, embark on your return journey to Kampala via Mbarara. Make a lunch stop at Igongo Cultural center before arriving in Kampala in the late afternoon where you will be transferred to your place of stay or at the airport for flight departure.

Silverback Lodge – Bwindi.

This lodge facility is approximately five minutes’ walk to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Positioned on a hill top overseeing Bwindi forest, it contains 12 rooms making it the largest in the Buhoma area of Bwindi.

Mweya Safari Lodge – Queen Elizabeth National park. 

This lodge is an up market setting situated in the peninsular of Mweya at the heart of the park. Enclosed by the mystical Ruwenzori Mountains, it provides a five star accommodation facilities and services.
